Industries
The Muskegon area has a vibrant manufacturing community with just about all major sectors represented. Core industries include automotive, furniture, chemical, aerospace, and defense contracting.
A common thread that ties all these industries together is that of a well-qualified and educated workforce. There are many technical programs available through Baker College, MAISD Career Tech Center, Muskegon Community College, Muskegon/Oceana MichiganWorks! as well as bachelors degree and above opportunities at the Stevenson Center for Higher Education. Our workforce is continually upgrading their skills to meet the needs of the changing economy.
In addition to an excellent business environment with available industrial buildings and land, extensive infrastructure, and a qualified workforce, the Muskegon area has an incredible quality of life. Not many are fortunate enough to live and work where others vacation, but here in Muskegon County that is possible all year round.
Alternative Energy
Muskegon is the place to start, or expand your alternative energy business. Muskegon area municipalities are progressive in providing a supportive atmosphere for this emergy economic sector. In addition to support there are a number of business resources that may be applicable to you.
